I took this photo to evoke the deep space of, well, deep space. I wanted to capture the stars as well as a light in order to compare how overpowering man-made structures feel compared to the sea of tiny stars. I wanted to use the bright color of the light to evoke a deep space by contrasting it with the dark abyss of space. I do think I captured that deep space, but I feel
that if I had a better camera, I could
adjust the exposure to maybe capture
more of the stars.
I took this photo because I love the way this pathway under the bridge evokes such endless dread. The way that the end of the pathway is just darkness really evokes the distance away that this pathway feels like. When I have walked down here in the past, the feeling that there is no escape has hit me, so I hoped to capture that with this picture.
When I saw this Rubber Duckie on campus, I knew I wanted to see the world from her eyes. So, I framed this photo as if to show the Duckie showing off her place, where everything around her belongs to her. I feel that I evoked this by having the lines converge on her, giving her the power and story she deserves.
